London Gatwick Airport will become the first to implement Amadeus’ cloud-based Airport-Collaborative Decision Making Portal to improve collaborative decision-making processes. Gatwick is now one of a forward-thinking group of airports to join the European-wide A-CDM standard, with airports such as Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Madrid and Zurich.
Emirates has announced a third daily service to Birmingham Airport, becoming the first airline to offer a direct First Class service to the region. Commencing August 1st, Emirates flight EK41, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, will depart Dubai International Airport at 02:35 and arrive in Birmingham at 07:05.
Virgin Atlantic has announced it is increasing capacity from Manchester to Orlando and Las Vegas for summer 2015. To meet high demand to two of its most popular leisure destinations, Sir Richard Branson’s airline is adding 24 additional flights to Orlando and Las Vegas, amounting to over 8,000 additional departure seats for the summer season.
Emirates expects this week to be its busiest of 2014, as travellers head home or abroad for the holiday season. Over 80,000 people will travel each day with Emirates on over 240 flights, according to the airline’s latest booking figures. This represents an increase of almost 23 per cent over last year.
