An AirAsia passenger plane hit an egret while landing at Nakhon Si Thammarat airport yesterday morning, delaying its return flight to Bangkok. The left engine of flight FD3188 from Don Mueang airport in Bangkok sucked in the bird as the plane was descending to land at Nakhon Si Thammarat airport about 7.30am. The pilot landed the plane safely but it was reported the engine turbine was slightly damaged. The plane’s return trip to Bangkok was postponed while repairs were made.
