A pilot was killed in a helicopter crash near downtown Orlando on Sunday. Orlando Fire Department Assistant Chief Hezedean Smith said the helicopter hit a two-story garage apartment at Alameda Drive near Edgewater Drive about 2:15 p.m. The Federal Aviation Administration said the helicopter that crashed was a Robinson R44. The origin and destination of the helicopter’s flight and the pilot’s identity were not immediately released.
